Udupi Murder Case: Accused Praveen Chougale Files Bail Application

Udupi: Praveen Arun Chougale, the defendant in the Nejar brutal murder case involving the killing of four family members, including three women, submitted a bail application to the District Session Court in Udupi on December 14.

The alleged perpetrator, 37-year-old Praveen Arun Chougale, is accused of murdering Haseena (46), Afnan (23), Aynaz (21), and Aseem (12) at their residence in Nejar, near Udupi city.

Advocate KSN Rajesh presented the bail application on behalf of the accused, who is currently in judicial custody. The application was taken up for hearing by District Session Court Judge Dinesh Hegde.

A notice has been issued to Public Prosecutor Prakash Chandra Shetty, allowing him to submit an objection by December 20.

The accused, Praveen Chougale, brutally killed the mother and three children at Nejar Tripti Layout on November 12. Subsequently, on November 14, he was apprehended by the police. The judicial custody of the accused has been extended until December 18.
