Udupi: The local police in Udupi have issued a warning to recipients of the 'Gruha Jyoti' and 'Gruha Lakshmi' programs to remain vigilant regarding fraudulent activities related to fake online applications.

Superintendent of Police Hakay Akshay of Udupi released a statement urging the public not to download or install any duplicate apps on their mobile devices. It is important to note that the government has not released any official Android apps for these schemes. Individuals should refrain from clicking on links received via SMS or WhatsApp.

Furthermore, caution should be exercised when providing personal information. Individuals should also disregard any phone calls requesting sensitive information such as Aadhaar and Pan numbers in order to avail program benefits. It is emphasized that government programs can be accessed through the Seva Sindhu portal, as stated in the press release.
