Udupi Police Register Case Against Person for Provocative Post on Social Media

Udupi: The Udupi police have registered a suo motu case against a person from Shimoga for posting a provocative post on social media related to the murder case of Nejar's mother and children.

The accused, Hafeez , had posted on his Facebook account about the accused in the recent four murders in Malpe Police Station, "Nejaras lost an easy way to kill Praveen Chowgale without preparation."

The police have registered a case against Hafeez under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code for promoting enmity between different groups and Section 505(2) of the IPC for making statements conducing to public mischief.

The police have urged people to refrain from posting inflammatory or provocative content on social media. Such posts can create a tense atmosphere and lead to violence.
