Udupi: In a horrifying incident this morning in Nejar, a 70-year-old woman managed to escape the assailant's attack, saving her life by seeking refuge inside a toilet and locking the door.

Hajira (70), the mother-in-law of the slain Hasina, miraculously survived the brutal attack. The assailant arrived at Hasina's residence around 8:30 AM and ruthlessly stabbed Hasina (42) and her two daughters, Afnan (22) and Aynaz (20), to death using a sharp weapon. Hasina's younger son, Aseem (12), who was cycling in the courtyard, heard the commotion and rushed inside the house. Unfortunately, the assailant also fatally stabbed the young boy, as confirmed by the police.

During the chaos, the attacker targeted Hajira, stabbing her in the stomach with a knife. Despite her injuries, she managed to elude the assailant's grasp and sought refuge in the house's toilet, where she locked herself in, ultimately saving her life.

Upon discovering the crime scene, the police, while conducting their investigation inside the house, noticed the closed door of the toilet. Despite the authorities' request to open the door, a frightened Hajira hesitated to comply. Eventually, the police had to forcefully break down the door to rescue Hajira and promptly admitted her to the hospital.

It has been reported that Hajira's condition is currently stable; however, she continues to receive care in the ICU at the hospital.
