Dharwad : A Hescom bill collector was the victim of a brutal hacking incident in Dharwad City on the outskirts, during the late hours of Friday. 

The deceased has been identified as Razzaq Kavalgeri (48), hailing from Baad village. The tragic occurrence occurred close to Haliyal Cross around 9:00 pm.

According to the police, a gathering of unidentified individuals ambushed Razzaq as he was making his way home from work, near the bridge on Haliyal road. They assaulted him using deadly weapons. The motive behind this act is still under investigation.
