Mangaluru: A resident of Amarpadnuru village in Sullia taluk fell victim to a fraudulent scheme, resulting in the unauthorized transfer of Rs 13,00,997 to imposters.

As per the filed complaint at Bellare police station, the woman recounted receiving a call on July 15 from an individual claiming to be an employee of Devabahalli's Vistara Airlines. The caller enticed her with the promise of a high-paying job within their company, prompting her to transfer a sum exceeding Rs 13 lakh in staggered transactions.

After realizing that the promised job was a sham, the woman promptly reported the incident to the Bellare police, acknowledging that she had been deceived.
