Mangaluru: A protest was held in front of Bantwal Mini Vidhana Soudha by the Women India Movement Dakshina Kannada District Committee, demanding the arrest of RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, who allegedly made obscene remarks about Muslim women in Mandya.

Addressing the protest meeting, VIM State Secretary Nasriya Bellare stated that Kalladka Bhat, rejected by coastal BJP party members and citizens, is attempting to disrupt peace and harmony in distant Mandya. She urged people not to be provoked by his words.

SDPI District Vice President Misria Kannur warned that if Prabhakar Bhat does not cease making such speeches, there will be consequences in the coming days. He urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to control individuals like Bhat to maintain social harmony.

Literary figure Misria Luqman Adyar expressed indignation, stating that if Prabhakar Bhat wants people to be silent, he should question which graveyard he is heading to. He emphasized that the community does not need to prove its patriotism, as they are born, live, and intend to die in their homeland.

Women India Movement District President Naureen Alampadi and General Secretary Nisha Wamanjoor demanded the arrest of Prabhakar Bhat.

Protestors raised slogans against Bhat for allegedly making communally provocative speeches, as well as against the police department and government for not taking action.

Several district leaders and activists, including WIM State President Fatima Naseema and SDPI State Committee Member Shahida Tasneem, participated in the protest meeting.
