Sirsi: Narayan Bhagwat, an exceptional Kannada educator at Marikamba Government High School in Sirsi, has been named the recipient of the prestigious National Best Teacher Award. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Delhi on Teacher's Day.

Originally from Handigon, Kumta, Narayan Bhagwat boasts an impressive academic background, with an MA degree in Kannada and MEd. In addition, he holds a Diploma in Theatre Education. His talents are diverse, encompassing music, painting, writing, poetry, directing and acting in dramas, harmonium artistry, as well as designing makeup and costumes for Yakshagana performances and plays. Beyond the classroom, Mr. Bhagwat actively engages in organizing summer camps and instructs students in the art of paper crafts and handicrafts.
