Karwar: Justice B.S. Patil, Karnataka Lokayukta, has issued a strong warning, stating that any complaints about delays in public works, improper facility sanctioning, negligence, or corruption will result in cases being registered and decisive action taken.
Addressing a review meeting in Ankola, Justice Patil emphasized the role of separate Lokayukta departments to investigate complaints against government, semi-government, corporation, and board employees.
Transparent development in villages through district panchayats, ensuring quality in panchayat roads, and avoiding facilities for unqualified individuals were highlighted. Under the Jaljeevan Mission, clean drinking water will be provided, and contaminated water supply complaints will be rigorously addressed.
Justice Patil stressed the need for good healthcare in government hospitals, directing cleanliness measures in district and taluk hospitals. Immediate processing of Pauthi account cases, asset transfers, and land records applications in taluk offices was urged, with commendation for officers providing exemplary service.
Reports on dilapidated school buildings and measures for repair were requested, with a warning against corruption in education departments. The cooperation department is tasked with ensuring integrity in cooperative societies, maintaining quality facilities in hostels, and supporting student education and health.
Forest development and clearing encroached lakes were emphasized, with a call for continued afforestation. Complaints regarding alcohol sales in rural areas prompted an investigation by the Excise Department, with strict measures against violators.
Justice Patil urged district officials to build a transparent administrative system, making the district a model for honest public service.
