Karwar: Minister Mankal Vaidya announced the fulfillment of the government's first guarantee scheme, Shakti Yojana, during an inauguration ceremony at the KSRTC bus station.
As part of this scheme, all women can now travel for free on city regular and express buses across the state. This initiative aims to benefit women, mothers, students, and gender minorities, allowing them to travel freely wherever they desire within Karnataka.
Minister Vaidya acknowledged the shortage of buses in some villages but assured that arrangements would be made to ensure bus services reach every village in the near future. He emphasized the importance of timely and convenient transportation, promising to minimize delays and inconvenience to passengers.
MLA Satish K Sail, presiding over the program, highlighted that the government's first scheme, providing free bus travel for women across the state, was launched that day. He assured that the remaining projects would be implemented soon. MLA Sail expressed gratitude to the dedicated drivers and conductors of government buses for their efforts in ensuring safe transportation and urged them to continue their commendable work.
