Mangaluru: Actor Prakash Raj labeled the electoral bond scandal as the most significant corruption case globally, emphasizing that those implicated are acting against the nation's interests.

He challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the electoral bond controversy in his 'Mann Ki Baat' program, urging transparency on whether it serves the nation's advancement. Prakash Raj criticized the secrecy surrounding electoral bond regulations and accused both the Prime Minister and Home Minister of deceit. He questioned the legitimacy of the electoral bond system, particularly its clandestine nature and potential for corruption, suggesting that its implementation could lead to financial malfeasance akin to bank embezzlement. 

The actor condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly accepting electoral bonds from corporations immediately following raids without disclosing their origins, casting doubt on the integrity of such transactions. He pointed to instances where electoral bonds were linked to companies involved in significant projects, raising concerns about transparency and accountability.

Prakash Raj also criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for its perceived lack of investigation into the BJP's acceptance of funds. Despite his decision not to contest in the upcoming elections, he pledged solidarity with the public in voicing their grievances and stressed the importance of citizens holding those in power accountable. 

Regarding electoral candidates in Mysuru, Prakash Raj advocated for voters to assess candidates based on their individual merits rather than their party affiliations. He voiced skepticism towards exit polls, alleging that they are influenced by financial incentives and biased media affiliations. 

Emphasizing his allegiance to the people's interests, Prakash Raj expressed reluctance to align with any political party or participate in campaigning. He criticized Prime Minister Modi's assertion of winning 400 seats, deeming it presumptuous and emphasizing that electoral outcomes are determined by the voters, not predetermined declarations.
