Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate Externs Seven Individuals with Criminal Backgrounds Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls

Mangaluru : The Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate has taken action against seven individuals with criminal backgrounds under the Karnataka Police Act in preparation for the Lok Sabha polls to ensure fairness.

According to Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, these individuals have been externed from Dakshina Kannada district for a period of three months. Additionally, in a bid to uphold peace and good conduct, security bonds have been imposed on 286 habitual offenders for a one-year period to prevent any potential breaches of peace.

The individuals who have been externed include Preetham, also known as Abhilash from Ashoknagara; Hemanth, known as Sonu from Urwa; Shivaraj, known as Shivu from Kotekar; Edwin Rahul D’Souza, also known as Rahul from Lakshmi Gudde in Someshwara; Ibrahim from Melangadi in Ullal; Praveen Poojary from Kodikal 6th Cross; and Mohamad Musthafa, also known as Musthafa from Belma in Deralakatte.

Commissioner Agarwal outlined the criminal records of these individuals. Preetham has six cases registered against him, including violations of the NDPS Act, across Urwa, Kavoor, and Mangaluru East police stations. Hemanth faces four cases, including charges under the Arms Act, in the Urwa station. Shivaraj has five cases against him, spread across Ullal and Kankanady town stations. Edwin Rahul has two cases in the Ullal station limits. Ibrahim faces four cases in the Ullal station. Praveen has five cases against him in various stations including Mangaluru East, Mangaluru South, Mysuru, and Kavoor. Lastly, Mustafa has six cases registered against him in stations such as Uppinangady, Bajpe, Moodbidri, and Konaje.
