Mangaluru: A driver employed at the Deputy Commissioner's office took his own life by hanging himself at his residence on Thursday. 

The deceased, identified as Balakrishna (58), resided near the Malady Court in Bangrakulur. 

Balakrishna had previously served as a driver in the Health Department before taking up the role of a car driver for the Additional DC.

Reports suggest that Balakrishna had been battling health issues. The Kavoor police have initiated an investigation into the incident and registered a case.
