Mangaluru: In a recent circular, Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has directed the public to promptly remove the names of deceased family members from their ration cards. Shockingly, it has come to light that 13,133 deceased individuals still appear on active ration cards.

The DC's office emphasizes that immediate action must be taken by providing the relevant death certificates as proof.

Failure to comply with this directive is considered an offense, and those found in violation will lose their eligibility as beneficiaries.
