Mangaluru: Revenue minister Krishna Byregowda on Tuesday made surprise visits to government offices in Mangaluru, including the Mangaluru taluk office, the incomplete deputy commissioner's complex at Padil, primary school in Mukkacheri, Someshwara town municipality, and Battampady.
The minister said the visits were aimed at improving administrative efficiency and minimising unnecessary visits of the public to government offices. He also said that officials must promptly address the issues of the people within a limited time-frame.
During his visit to the Someshwara town municipality and village accountant's office, the minister gathered information about the functioning of the offices. He also reviewed the damage caused by sea erosion in Battampady.
The minister's surprise visits were welcomed by the public, who said that it would help to improve the quality of service at government offices.
