Mangaluru: Senior citizen passes away after hoisting flag

Mangaluru: Following the Republic Day celebration organized by an apartment association at Bejai New Road, a senior citizen collapsed at home and succumbed after unfurling the tri-color on Friday.

Abdul Samad Mohammed Habiba (80), a retired government officer, served as the chief guest during the Republic Day program conducted by the apartment association. He raised the flag at approximately 7 am, delivered his speech, and then returned to his flat. Shortly after taking a seat, he collapsed and passed away.

In addition to his contributions to the apartment association, Abdul Samad Mohammed Habiba had also dedicated his services to various institutions in Bhatkal. Subsequently, Samad's mortal were transported to his hometown in Gangolli, Kundapur, Udupi district.
