Mangaluru: Ashura (10), daughter of Ansar from Konaje, and Mariyamma Nafiya (14), daughter of Iliyaz from Ullal, allegedly drowned while playing in the water at Neerakatte in Navur, Bantwal Taluk, on Sunday. 

The police stated that the children, who were visiting relatives at Maindala near Navur, accompanied their family members to River Nethravathi for recreation when the tragedy occurred. 

Bantwal Rural police have initiated a case in this regard.
