Mangaluru: Distressed by his girlfriend's suicide, a young man ended his life by stepping in front of a train within the Mulki police station limits.

According to the police, the deceased is Karthik (19), a resident of Mailottu. He had been in a relationship with a college student. 

However, her parents forced her to discontinue her studies when they learned about the relationship.

She took her own life on May 17. Reportedly, her family members did not allow Karthik to pay his respects at her funeral on May 18.
