Mangaluru: Speaker U T Khader has emphasized Mangaluru's potential to become a thriving tourist and economic center. He urged the government, elected officials, and stakeholders to set aside any reservations and collaborate to ensure the successful execution of government programs.

Khader made these remarks while inaugurating a workshop focused on district tourism projects, which coincided with World Tourism Day. The event, themed 'Tourism and Green Investments,' was organized by the Dakshina Kannada district administration and the Tourism department and took place at Hotel Ocean Pearl in Mangaluru on Wednesday.

Khader highlighted the district's, particularly Mangaluru city's, significant potential for transformation into a major tourist and economic hub. He emphasized that tourism extends beyond beaches and resorts, encouraging exploration of various tourism aspects within the district. He also stressed the importance of generating creative ideas with public involvement.

Regarding the district, Khader called for the effective implementation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) rules to ensure the safety of fishermen and provide them with opportunities in tourism activities.
