Udupi: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shobha Karandlaje, emphasized the urgency of swiftly completing the land acquisition process from Karavali Circle to Malpe, starting the road work promptly.
This matter was addressed during a discussion on National Highways 66, 169, and 169A at the deputy commissioner’s building on Monday.
Highlighting the need for immediate action, Shobha pointed out the narrow road leading to Malpe Beach, which witnesses heavy traffic due to fishing boats and tourists.
She expressed concern over the increasing number of accidents near Padubidri Junction on NH 66 and urged officials to take measures to enhance safety, making the region accident-free.
