Karwar: Mankal Vaidya, the district incharge minister for Uttara Kannada and minister for Fisheries, Ports, and Inland Transport, has leveled allegations against the BJP government, accusing them of engaging in widespread corruption and misappropriation of State resources.
Vaidya firmly stated, "The previous BJP government has been implicated in acts of looting the State. Our current task is to replenish the treasury and ensure that beneficiaries receive their funds."
During a progress review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's office in Karwar, the issue of compensation for the families of 40 deceased fishermen, who had not received any funds from the Distress Relief Fund for the past two years, was discussed.
Afterward, in a conversation with the press, Vaidya explained that officials stated the compensation had not been disbursed due to insufficient funds.
"The previous BJP government faced allegations of taking a 40% commission, resulting in numerous departments experiencing a lack of funds. This clear evidence indicates that the BJP government has been involved in looting the people."
Vaidya emphasized, “We hold the responsibility of refilling the depleted government treasury and ensuring that beneficiaries of various welfare schemes receive their due compensation.”
