Madikeri (DHNS): Minorities are being harassed by the authorities while enroling their names in the voters' list, KPCC secretary and spokesperson T M Shahid alleged.

"My son is 18 years old. The lower-level officials made me run from pillar to post while enroling my son's name in the electoral list. Later, I directly went to the tahsildar to include the name. If this happens to me in spite of being an office-bearer of a political party, what will happen to the poor? he sought to know.

There is a systematic effort to prevent minorities from coming to the mainstream under the present BJP government, he added.
