Mangaluru: A 25-year-old Sabu, enrolled as a student at a prestigious nursing college, has been arrested on Sunday by the Ullal police for his alleged involvement in impersonating a law enforcement officer.
Hailing from Idukki, Kerala, the accused was taken into custody. During the course of the investigation, law enforcement officials confiscated a total of 380 fraudulent identification cards that portrayed Benedict as an officer of the Kerala 'RAW' agency, an employee of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, and various other roles.
In addition to the identification cards, the police also confiscated a collection of Police Sub-Inspector uniforms, police footwear, assorted insignia such as badges, medals, and belts, as well as a laptop and two sets of mobile phones.
Subsequently, Benedict was presented before the court and has been placed under judicial custody. Mangaluru Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain has urged individuals who may have fallen victim to Benedict's deceitful actions to promptly contact the police or the Urva police station.
