Mangaluru: A distressing incident came to light as a case has been registered at the Puttur police station under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, specifically sections 8 and 12, pertaining to committing sexual acts, alongside sections 341 and 354 (d) for wrongful restraint and stalking, respectively. The case involves an unidentified miscreant who targeted and sexually harassed two young female students while they were on their way to college.
According to police sources, the two girls bravely faced this harrowing experience as they were stalked and subjected to sexual harassment by an unknown man. Fortunately, the girls managed to escape the distressing situation and promptly sought help by informing a woman lecturer at their college. Acting responsibly, the lecturer took immediate action and lodged a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of the case against the perpetrator.
