Mangaluru: A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday morning in Kallarpe near Puttur town, resulting in the death of a 58-year-old rider who sustained severe injuries after colliding with a car.

The deceased has been identified as Ismail, also known as Usman, a resident of Naithady. He was en route to his farm in Kallarpe when the collision took place at around 7 am on the outskirts of Puttur.

Ismail suffered critical injuries in the accident and unfortunately passed away while being transported to Mangaluru for further medical treatment.

The impact of the collision caused extensive damage to the scooter, but no information is currently available regarding the occupants of the car, which bears a registration from Madikeri.

Ismail is survived by his wife, three daughters, a son, and a host of relatives.

A case has been registered at the Sampya Police Station, and investigations into the accident are currently underway.
