Mangaluru: A tragic incident unfolded late Friday night in Nantur as a young man lost his life when his car spiraled out of control, colliding with the divider. 

The deceased, identified as Shamith Shetty (29), also known as Bunty, was the grandson of senior BJP leader Lalitha Sunder. Shamith tragically succumbed to the accident on the spot.

Shamith had been on his way back home to Thokkottu after attending a Daiva Kola event at a friend's residence. The impact of the collision was severe, causing extensive damage not only to the car but also to the iron fencing along the divider.

Tragically, Shamith's father had passed away several years prior.
