Kozhikode: In a heartbreaking turn of events, a family of four was discovered deceased in their rented residence in Maitri Nagar, Munduparam on Thursday. The victims have been identified as Karatukunnummel Sabish (37), a native of Kuttikkattoor, Kozhikode, his wife Sheena (37), and their two sons, Harigovind (six) and Srivardhan (two and a half).

The authorities found Sabish and Sheena hanging lifeless from ceiling fans in separate rooms, while Srivardhan's lifeless body lay on a bed in Sabish's room. Harigovind's body was found resting on a mattress on the floor nearby. Tragically, both children exhibited noticeable red marks on their necks.

Upon investigation, the police have tentatively concluded that the couple, burdened by the emotional toll of their children's Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a genetic disease, resorted to taking their own lives and, heartbreakingly, the lives of their beloved children.
