Udupi: The polling for the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha seat, a record-breaking 77.15 percent voter turnout was reported, marking a significant increase from the previous elections. District-wise, Udupi saw 78.94 percent turnout across its four assembly constituencies, while Chikkamagaluru recorded 75.7 percent.
Out of the total 15,85,162 eligible voters, 12,22,888 cast their votes, with 77.39 percent of male voters and 76.95 percent of female voters exercising their rights.
Notably, only seven out of 37 transgender voters participated.
The highest turnout was in Sringeri with 80.31 percent, while the lowest was in Chikkamagaluru constituency with 70.73 percent.
Despite varied participation rates across constituencies, all areas saw increased voter engagement compared to previous elections, reflecting a positive trend in civic participation.
