Udupi: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kurma Rao made a visit to the flood-affected areas of the city on Thursday.
Addressing the media, the DC stated that Udupi district has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past five days, resulting in significant impact on various locations, particularly low-lying areas. The NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) are prepared to conduct rescue operations if necessary. Nine specific areas have been identified, and boats have been arranged accordingly.
As a preventive measure, residents of the affected low-lying areas are being relocated.Precautionary measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of the people.
