Udupi: Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis directed all the private hospitals in Udupi district to exhibit the rates for treatments and warned of initiating strict action against the hospitals failing to implement it. 

Chairing a meeting, she said many private hospitals don’t seem to care about what has been made mandatory in Karnataka and do not display rate charts, which is a clear violation of the government’s direction. 

She said in a few hospitals, the charts are displayed in a corner. A few have mentioned the old rates. All the private hospitals should exhibit the revised rates for treatments. 

The DC directed the officials from department of health to pay surprise visit to the hospitals. 

The DC said, land for endosulfan victims has been identified at Senapura in Udupi district. The health department should initiate measures to fence the land, she said.
