‘Resort politics’ is disgusting: Datta

Sirsi: "The 'resort politics' going on in the State is disgusting and such politics by any party is unethical", said JD(S) Campaign Committee chief YSV Datta.

Speaking at presspersons during a stopover at Sirsi on Sunday, Datta said that it was the responsibility of the MLAs to help the people of their respective constituencies during drought. But the resort politics has created such a situation that there was none to listen to the grievances and problems of the people.

Answering a query, he said that those MLAs who believe in the ideologies and principles of the political party will remain in the party and it is difficult to hold back those who want to quit the party. MLAs must be given independence to take a decision.

He said that the Modi wave in the country was losing intensity and this reflected in the results of the Assembly elections held for five states in the country recently. Though Modi was depressed over the poor results, he was indulging in a political gimmick. He was trying to have control over all constitutional bodies.

He said that JD(S) will face the Lok Sabha elections with the Congress in the State and their aim would be to defeat BJP.
