Bahrain: At the recently held Annual General Meeting of the Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat (BMJ) Bahrain, Mr. Sarfaraz Mohtesham was elected as the new President, while Mr. Shahnawaz Asarmatta was chosen as the General Secretary. The announcement was made through an official press release issued by the Jamaat.
According to the release, the newly elected office-bearers for the upcoming two-year term are as follows:
President: Sarfaraz Mohtesham
Vice President: Saleem Ruknuddin
General Secretary: Shahnawaz Asarmatta
Secretary I: Mohammed Azharuddin Armar
Secretary II: Mafad Mohtesham
Auditor: Musaib Patel
Treasurer: Yahya Mohtesham Jan
The elections were held under the supervision of Mr. Ishaq Pillur during the annual general body meeting at Istiraha Varsace in Manama. Initially, five members — Mr. Altaf Musba, Mr. Yahya Mohtesham Jan, Mr. Ishaq Pillur, Mr. Shuaib Africa, and Mr. Moin Khalifa — were appointed from the dissolved body. Subsequently, 12 additional members were elected through voting.
Additionally, Mr. Wasi M.J. was inducted under the President’s nomination rights, with one more member expected to be added to complete the 19-member executive body.
The 12 members elected through voting are: Azharuddin Armar, Musaib Patel, Mafad Mohtesham, Ahmed Zia Mohtesham Jan, Saleem Ruknuddin, Abdul Fattah Khaleefa, Athar Peerzade, Sarfaraz Mohtesham, Aaqib Kashimji, Sabir Mohtesham, Shahnawaz Asarmatta, and Syed Mazeen S.M.
The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Mafad Mohtesham. This was followed by a detailed annual report presented by outgoing General Secretary Mr. Musaib Patel, who highlighted the Jamaat’s activities, financial statements, and welfare initiatives over the past year. The session concluded with a heartfelt dua led by Maulavi Jawwad Ruknuddin. Lunch was served to all attendees, marking a successful end to the event.
