Bhatkal: A research-focused science fair will be held at Shams PU College, Bhatkal, managed by the Tarbiat Education Society, on Thursday, November 20. A total of 46 teams from various schools and colleges will showcase their scientific models, Principal Liaqat Ali announced.
Addressing a press conference, he stated that the purpose of this science fair is not merely to exhibit routine science models, but to encourage research-based thinking among students, enabling them to identify real-life social challenges and propose effective scientific solutions.
Providing further details at the press meet held on Tuesday, Shams PU College Administrator M. R. Manvi said the event is being organized in collaboration with the AJ Academy of Research, Raichur. He added that all schools and colleges in Bhatkal taluk were invited to participate, and 155 teams registered, out of which 46 teams were ultimately selected.
Manvi informed that students will present their research papers, findings, and innovative models on November 20. The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 AM, which will be graced by Dr. Mohammed Zubair Kola, Vice President of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, as the chief guest. Dr. Virendra Shanbhag, Principal of New English PU College, will attend as the guest of honour.
The fair will be open to visitors as follows:
- For educational institutions and students: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- For women: 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
- For men: 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
On this occasion, various awards will also be presented to encourage students participating in the research projects.
The organizers have appealed to all educational institutions of Bhatkal, as well as parents and the general public, to attend the research exhibition, interact with the students, and offer encouragement so that this journey of scientific research and innovation can be successfully advanced.
