Bhatkal: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) strongly opposed the banners which are put up in different areas of Bhatkal town appealing Hindus to come together to build ‘Hindu Nation’ which is organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in Shirali on 26th January.

Members of SDPI submitted memorandum separately to Uttara Kannada Suprintendent of Police, Bhatkal CPI and Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner demanding to take strict legal action against the organisers who are involved in organising such a program which is unconstitutional and anti-secular.

President of Bhatkal unit SDPI Waseem Manegar claimed in the memorandum saying that it is mentioned in the banner regarding a meeting has been called in Shirali to convert secular country India into Hindu country and the organiser have appealed openly to Hindus to attend the meeting and show the example of Hindu unity. SDPI urged police to take this issue very seriously and dont allow the organisers to conduct such meetings, instead police should take legal action against the organisers.

Waseem also told Bhatkal CPI Ganesh that these kind of banners would instigate the communal violence and demean the democratic system. "This is a threat to the democracy, so, action should be taken against the programme organisers", he demanded.

Bhatkal CPI Ganesh received the memorandum in town police station, similarly a staff of AC office received the memorandum which was addressed to Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner.
