Mangaluru: District In-charge Minister V Sunil Kumar directed the district administration to set up war rooms in each taluk towards preparedness for monsoon.

He chaired a review meeting in Mangaluru. The minister directed Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V and Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Kumar to inspect the condition of roads at Charmadi and Shiradi Ghats.

The required repair works should be taken up after consulting the Hassan district administration and PWD, he said.

The NHAI should initiate steps to instal signboards in all the accident-prone areas on the national highway that passes through the district. The potholes on the highway should be filled immediately, he added.

He directed Mescom to replace the damaged electricity poles immediately. New transformers should be installed. Gang men should be prepared for the monsoon. 

The health department should take measures to check the outbreak of vector-borne diseases. The district administration has Rs 10 crore for rain relief measures, he added.
