Sirsi: Forest Encroachers Agitation Forum district unit president Raveendra Naik has announced that 'Karwar Chalo'movement will be launched on 6th February urging the government to offer solution for the forest encroachers. He said that the problems of forest encroachers have been becoming complex and as a result, the encroachers have reached a helpless stage.

Addressing the press conference in Sirsi on Sunday, he said that the forest encroachers were being denied their rights due to the elected representatives who lack adequate legal knowledge. To create awareness among the forest encroachers on the moral and legal aspects related to their problem and to ensure that their voice reached the government, Karwar Chalo will be held.

Naik said that fighting for their land had become inevitable. The Supreme Court was supposed to deliver the verdict within a week in the case related to the rights of forest encroachers. So, there was an urgent need to ensure that the voice of the distressed people reaches the government.

He called upon the forest encroachers to participate in the programme in large numbers so that their unity can bear fruits.

Forum leader Mdh Gows Tiluvalli, Mallikarjun Kshowrad, M R Naik and others were present.
