Sirsi: The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Department’s sports and cultural meet concluded on a grand note at the Sri Marikamba Sports Ground in the taluk, with Honnavar taluk clinching the overall championship, while Siddapur secured the runner-up position after a keen contest.

Addressing the valedictory function, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dileesh Shashi lauded the enthusiasm and energy of officers and staff, stating that their performance in sports and cultural events exceeded expectations. He said the strong interest shown by participants was encouraging and assured that more tournaments would be organised in the coming days to further promote sporting spirit.

The event was jointly organised by the Zilla Panchayat Uttara Kannada, the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, and the Panchayat Development Officers’ Welfare Association, Uttara Kannada.

Senior officials present on the occasion included Zilla Panchayat Administration Deputy Secretary M.S. Allabaksh, Planning Director Karim Asadi, Development Wing Deputy Secretary Prakash Halammanavar, Chief Planning Officer Somashekar Mesta, Chief Accounts Officer Anand Habib, Executive Engineer Satish Jahagirdar, ZP APO G. Satish, Assistant Director of the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports Ravi Naik, along with taluka panchayat executive officers, and officials and staff from taluk panchayats, gram panchayats and various departments.
