Sirsi: A person who contacted a man from Sirsi over the phone and assured him of doubling the investment, cheated the man and walked away with Rs 44.85 lakh from the man’s bank account.

A case in this regard has been registered with Market police recently. Subhash Janardhan Jannu, a resident of Ayyappa Nagar here, is the man who has been cheated.

In a complaint filed by him, Subhash has alleged that he had lost Rs 44,85 lakh to the cheats.

He alleged that persons named Ranveer Singh Indore, Sonali M L and Sulekha had cheated him.
