Sirsi: Narasimha Adi has been elected president of the Uttara Kannada district unit of the Karnataka State Working Journalists’ Association in the elections held on Sunday. In the closely contested race, Adi secured 59 votes, while his opponent, Pradeep Shetty, received 50 votes.

Elections were also held for the three vice-president posts, in which Basavaraj Patil, Maruti Naik, and Sumangala Honnekoppa emerged victorious.

Basavaraj Patil secured 78 votes, Maruti Naik received 92 votes, and Sumangala Honnekoppa garnered 63 votes.
