Karwar: Sirsi team emerged as the general champions in the PU district level sports meet held at Maladevi grounds in Karwar. Sunita Kamat of St Joseph PU College of Karwar emerged as the best player of the tournament in the girl’s category.

ZP President Jayashri Moger inaugurated the sports meet by handing over the sports torch to the players. Highlighting the importance of sports, she said that to keep the body fit and fine, everyone should play sports or practice exercise.

Along with other fields, sports too has expanded its horizons and promises abundant opportunities for the sports personalities to excel. BY participating in sports, students learn to accept defeat in a sportive manner.

Winning and losing are part of the game, but participation is vital, she noted.
