Sirsi: A 21-year-old snake catcher's attempt to make a video of him 'playing' with the three snakes caught by him landed him in danger after one of the snakes bit him. A video of him being bitten by a cobra has been making rounds on social media.

Majh Sayyed of Kasturba Nagar in Sirsi is the one bitten by the snake. The incident took place near Devarahole on March 13. The youth was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Sirsi where he is said to be out of danger.

"Rescuing snakes is my passion and on a single day, I rescued three snakes. Before releasing them into the forest, I tried to make a video of me handling the snakes so that I could upload it on YouTube. The incident took place when I was making the video. Presently, I am recovering," said Majh.

Tweeting this video of snake mishandling, the senior officials of the Forest Department have warned people not to indulge in such negligent acts.
