Bhatkal: A special school for the education, training and care of differently-abled children, Wisdom Special School, was inaugurated at the campus of Al Kausar Girls College near Masjid Ikhwan on Basti Road in Bhatkal. The school was formally inaugurated with prayers by Bhatkal Qazis Maulana Abdul Rab Khateebi Nadvi and Maulana Khwaja Muinuddin Akrami Madani.
Speaking on the occasion, religious and community leaders emphasized the importance of providing education to differently-abled children in a dignified and religious environment. They stated that it is a divine principle that those who help people suffering from any disability are blessed by Allah, and such help not only benefits the helpers but also protects their future generations. Speakers asserted that those who support institutions working for differently-abled children will never have disabled children in their families.

School authorities informed that the number of differently-abled children in Bhatkal is increasing, with an estimated count of over 300 children. Keeping this in view, a group of women from Bhatkal took the initiative to establish this special school under Muslim management.
All India Muslim Personal Law Board member Maulana Ilyas Jakti Nadvi termed the school a major need for Bhatkal and urged the management to impart Islamic-based training. He appreciated the efforts of the management, teachers and supporters of the institution.
The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Speakers including Al Kausar College Chairman S.M. Syed Shakeel and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Bhatkal President Maulana S.M. Syed Zubair said that caring for differently-abled children is challenging but highly rewarding. At present, 11 students have been enrolled, and three teachers are engaged in their training and care.
Prominent personalities present at the programme included Mohammed Yunus Qazia (President, Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen Bhatkal), Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi (President, Jamia Islamia Bhatkal), Umar Farooq Musbah (President, Bhatkal Muslim Khaleej Council), Atiqur Rahman Muniri (Secretary General), Jilani Mohtisham, Qamar Sada, Iqbal Ekkeri, S.M. Syed Ismail, Muaz Jukaku, Aftab Hussain Kola, Advocate Imran Lanka, Azizur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi, Younus Ruknuddin, Nauman Patel, Musaddiq Ekkeri, among others. All speakers congratulated the management on establishing the first special school under Muslim management in Bhatkal and assured their full support.
