Karwar: R V Deshpande, Large Scale Industries and Uttara Kannada District In-charge Minister, said that State government would conduct a survey again on the Hubali-Ankola railway line and apply online for clearance from Union Ministry for Environment.

Speaking to press persons on Tuesday, he said that there is a need to lay railway lines between Kalaghatagi and Ankola. There are hopes that the project will be given green signal soon.

He said that there is no wrong in demand made by the people of Sirsi to create a new district with Sirsi as headquarters.

However, there is no such proposal in front of the government. In a democratic setup everyone has the right to demand prosperity for themselves. There are several measures that have to be taken at government level for formation of a new district, he said and added that he would not give his personnel opinion on a matter that has decided by the cabinet.
