Stranded students Fouzia, Sneha & Imran return to motherland

Dharwad/Uttara Kannada: Two girl students from Dharwad and Mundgod, respectively, who were pursuing MBBS in Ukraine and were stranded due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, returned to India safely on Friday.

Fouzia Mulla, a resident of Mehboobnagar in Dharwad who was studying medicine at Ternopil Medical University returned to Bengaluru on Friday.

She would be staying at her brother’s house in Bengaluru before returning to Dharwad.

Sneha from Mundgod

Sneha Hosamani of KHB Colony in Mundgod who was doing her MBBS fourth year, returned to Delhi from Poland. She was stranded at Kharkiv when the Russian invasion began and was brought back safely under ‘Operation Ganga’ evacuation.

She was struck in Kharkiv for more than a week but managed to cross the Ukraine border and reached Poland two days ago. From there, Sneha was brought back to Delhi.

Arrangements have been made at Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi, and she would be returning to Bengaluru in the evening, said Sneha over the phone to her family members.

Student from Banavasi

Imran Nazeer Chaudhary of Banavasi in Sirsi, who was studying medicine in Ukraine and was stranded at Vinnytsia City, reached Delhi on Friday.

Imran was doing his medicine third year.

Two days ago, he had reached Bucharest, the capital of Romania and from there, he was brought back to Delhi by a special flight.

He said, he is eagerly waiting to see his family members. He would reach Banavasi on Saturday.
