Karwar: A student of St Joseph’s PU College in Karwar, who was on a tour with his college mates, drowned after he accidentally slipped into a stream on Sunday, 2nd December.

The deceased was identified as Vishal Manjrekar, aged 18.

It is reported that around 20 students of the college had been on a trip to Baragadde in Kadra limits in Karwar taluk on Sunday. Vishal and two others entered the Goyar stream. But Vishal slipped and could not swim to the banks and died. Police and others fish out his body on Sunday evening.

After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the parents.
