Udupi: A student of the Nitte Institute of Architecture at Derlakatte in Mangaluru, was killed on the spot when the car in which he was traveling in hit the divider and toppled on the DC Office road in Manipal late Saturday night.

The deceased is identified as Ivan Anil Kumar, aged 20, a resident of Kannur in Kerala.

Sources say, he along with his three friends was in the car at the time of the accident. Ivan’s friends have all suffered serious injuries and have been admitted to a private hospital in Manipal.

Rash and negligence in driving is said to be the cause of the mishap. They had come to Manipal to meet their friend. 

A case is registered in Manipal police station.
