Kumta: The Town Municipality Council along with Survey authorities on Tuesday jointly conducted the survey for the widening of all main roads in the town.
On receiving direction from MLA Dinakar Shetty, a meeting was chaired by Kumta Assistant Commissioner Preeti Gelote at Taluka Panchayat hall on 27th November to discuss the issues related to the widening of roads. To overcome all the traffic-related problems in the town, the decision was taken to widen all main roads which include the stretch from Mastikatte circle to Halkar cross, Bastipete to Gibb high school circle, and from Jaiwant studio till Vanalli beach.
Assistant commissioner has asked the authorities to provide the report after conducting a survey of 6 meters and 9 meters from the centre portion of the road, following which the authorities have begun the survey activity from Mastikatte circle.
The survey work was begun under the supervision of TMC chief officer Suresh M.
It is said that after studying the survey report, the decision shall be taken in the further meeting whether to widen 12 meters or 18 meters.
