Bhatkal: Construction of road into 4 lane, inaugurated by the MLA.

Bhatkal: The road from Bunder road to Sagar road, which passes through the renowned 'Shamshuddin Circle' is reported to be converted into a 4-lane road. The road which is about one and a half kilometers will soon go under construction. The project was    inaugurated by the MLA Mankal Vaidya on Monday, 19th September.

The MLA has promised to bring improvements in Bhatkal which will help the citizens. He said, "I am striving to make an effort in improving the conditions of Bhatkal in order to make it one of the best Taluks in the state". He also mentioned that along with the support of the public, Bhatkal will steadily keep on prospering. 

The MLA along with a group of people surveyed the road and discussed the changes to be made such as inserting road side poles, axing down trees in order to widen the road, implementing proper drainage, installing street lights etc., amongst other things for which 12 crore 40 lakhs has been granted. Furthermore, the construction will also include the road up till Hadoli.  

The following people were present at the inauguration: District Panchayat President Jayshree Moger, members Albert D'costa, Sindhu Bhaskar Naik, Taluk Panchayat President Ishwar Naik, Vice President  Radha Ashik Vaidya, Panchayat standing committee chairman Vishnu Devadiga, Bhatkal TMC President Mohammed Sadiq Matta, Vice President KM Ashfaque, municipality standing committee chairman Mohammed Qaiser Mohtashem, Taluk Panchayat member Mahabaleshwar Naik. Officers Manjunath Naik, Gopal Naik, Shailindar Gowda, Tahsildar VN Badkar, Taluk panchayat officer CT Naik, municipality chief officer Ramesh, irrigation department engineer Vinayak Shet, ACF Nandish, Block Congress President Vittal Naik.
