Karwar: In a shocking incident, a man died after he was hit by a speeding sports utility vehicle (SUV) while crossing a road near Amdalli in the taluk on Thursday evening. 

The deceased was identified as 34-year-old Santosh Kantrikar. 

The footage of entire mishap was recorded by a CCTV camera which was installed nearby. In a footage, it can be seen that Santosh parked his bike on one side of a road and was crossing the road when the SUV hit him. He initially sustained critical injuries and was immediately taken to district hospital in Karwar for first aid treatment, and was later boarded to private hospital for advanced treatment. Unfortunately, he breathed his last on the way. 

A case stands registered in Karwar Rural station police station.
