Kumta: An accused, who had stolen the donation box (Hundi) of Gokarna temple, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 by the Kumta court.

K Manikantha of Chinnadahatti Street of Satnoor in Kanakapur taluk is the accused. Manikantha had stolen the money and ornaments from the donation box of the Gokarna temple in the year 2012.

He was involved in the theft at Shaneeshwar Temple in Maddur a few months later and had been caught. 

During the investigation of that case, it came to light that the accused had stolen the donation box of Gokarna temple also.
